I found these two readings very enjoyable to look at. My favorite was the "Texting and writing." In the Man-Of-Letters article, the author talked about writing and what it really means to society these days, especially to students. "What does it count for anymore?" I believe that when we write or when we read, we have to think before we act just like making decisions. We need to think about what we read and write because there is always a meaning behind it, we just sometimes don't take the time to see it.
I found Texting and Writing very amusing because although texting has become a problem nationwide, I don't believe that it has any effect on how we write, especially with high school students. I think its funny that students use "lol" or "gr8" in their papers, but I think it's just because they are being lazy and not thinking. It's not because texting is ruining their social and learning skills.
